PRIMA Moda Tessuto, in a joint initiative with Pitti Filati
Over 40 brands of excellence in the textile sector will preview
their fabric collections for spring-summer 2011
Fabric manufacturers “allied” with yarn producers in order to compete more successfully on the market. The strategy is a winner and has already been tested to the satisfaction of all concerned. Now it is being renewed with the second edition of PRIMA Moda Tessuto, the event promoted by the Pratotrade consortium, that opens the trade fair program for the textile sector with the presentation of the spring/summer 2011 collections.
The curtain goes up at the Penthouse Pavilion of the Fortezza da Basso fairgrounds in Florence, from January 27 to 29, jointly and in synergism with Pitti Immagine Filati.
It is a much-appreciated return to the Florence fairgrounds, which pairs fabrics with yarns: one that the producers themselves were requesting insistently, and the inauguration last July proved the excellence of the synergism between the two fairs, as can be seen from the highly satisfactory outcome of the event with 2000 visitors to PRIMA. For the second edition in January there will be 40 brands, representative of companies strongly oriented toward innovation, creativity and high fashion content, from the most important Italian and foreign textile districts (among the exhibitors will be several “new entries” adding their prestige to the textile scene).
The clients were enthusiastic in their approval of the formula that gives the fashion designers a complete overview of the raw materials (fabrics and yarns) and this will certainly strengthen the cooperation between PRIMA e Pitti Filati.
«The joint presentation of fabrics and yarns – says the president of Pratotrade, Alessandro Benelli – and the anticipation of the dates to permit the market adequate time to schedule purchases and production programs was particularly appreciated by the national and international clientele invited to the first edition. The highly satisfactory results encourage us to develop the event and promote it even more, in this particularly difficult and delicate time that the companies and the entire fashion industry are going through».
What will be new at the next edition of PRIMA Moda Tessuto? We asked Vincenzo Pagano, director of Pratotrade, who told us: «For the coming season we plan to add a service of fashion information at a high international level, made even more effective by the synergism developed with the yarns. The goal is to offer, in plenty of time, a coordinated overview, but with the respective specificities relative to the development of fashion and the new collections of fabrics and yarns».
Li Edelkoort, the international trend guru, and her team will prepare the layout and organize the fashion trend area, where it will be possible to get an idea of the collections proposed by the exhibitors. The entire setting will focus very strongly on the concept of fashions “Made In Italy”.
Summer 2011 will be a season of optimism and rediscovery of the charms of apparel and accessories with the “Made in Italy” label. The taste for the Italian look, and the appeal of the country itself will be impressed in the style of the fashions to come. The party spirit of Rimini’s beaches, the elegant ease of Capri, the chic boldness of Naples, the mysterious black heart of Stromboli, the lush gardens of the Italian villas, the rustic shores of the Po delta, the mystic depths of the classical ruins of Pompei, the refined landscapes of the lake region: all the charm, taste and uniqueness that is Italy will inspire and animate future styles.
